I don't think the yellow flowers detract--it's more like they take up too much room. The clarity of the red flowers makes up a lil bit for the "detraction," or is it just me? (For me, I know there's a big flower over in one place, but I look at other stuff in the pic anyway.) Actually, the white border around the image helps in nullifying the bright value concentration in the lower right. I "was hoping" that you'd show more of the ground, like from a near-ground-level shot to show how the door connects to the flowers via the path.
The opposite would have worked more in the "secret" sense as well... having the door/doorway in the foreground (looking thru/past it) with the garden in the background. But that probably wouldn't have worked well if the garden wasn't the right shape/size, so never mind.
Really dig the red flowers; the location is simply amazing. I love how the manmade elements are out of focus.
But here's what to do next time: Focus on the red flower in the back, angle away from the pink/yellow roses (they detract), and get a little more of the blurry door/wall in the background.
